Bubble Series
‘Living in a bubble’ is a phrase synonymous with the Coronavirus pandemic. An invisible, devastating enemy caused a global shift in how we lived our lives in 2020, and beyond.

‘Bubble Series’ references and pays homage to 19th century paintings by war artists. I was inspired by their use of colour to impart the feeling of chaos, desolation and loss that they witnessed. My aim was to portray these artists colours in re-imagined artworks that represent a 21st century viral war, which like previous wars before resulted in the tragic loss of millions of innocent individuals, and was frightening, confusing and lonely.
